WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
In order to provide the best experience any poker tour MUST focus on the player and their overall experience. By offering the best balance of fun and poker tournaments and games to the players, we are able to benefit our host venues far more effectively than any other tour.
We do this in several ways:
1. OUR TABLES are the highest quality tables in the market. Constructed using a base of high quality REAL wood and built to the dimensions used in poker rooms in Las Vegas and around the world.
The playing surface uses ¼ inch closed-cell foam on top of the wood which prevents spills from soaking in and retains the cushioned feel indefinitely. We finish the playing surface using solid black “suited poker cloth”. This is the same cloth that most casinos are now using due to its durability and smoothness.
The rail is constructed using high quality real wood with 1 inch furniture quality padding for the most consistent look, feel and comfort. The rail is finished with high quality cinnamon-colored vinyl that is very durable.
Our tables also include a “dealer box”; a cut-out area specifically for the dealer with an inlaid chip rack. This mirrors the set up of poker tables in the finest casinos in the world.
2. OUR CHIPS feature a single unique design. Rather than offering different chips, different color schemes (even using chips from “freebie” sets) at each table as other tours do, we invested in a large quantity of uniquely designed clay-composite chips in standard colors. These chips are 11.5 gram – similar to the weight and feel in most poker rooms. They also have that classic “clay chip sound” for more authentic play.
3. OUR CARD DECKS are also standardized and of the highest quality. As with chips where it can be confusing to a player that moves from one table to another and encounters a totally different set of chips and color scheme, we feel that seeing different card decks – colors, face printing and size, etc. – can be equally confusing. Therefore, our dealers always have two decks of KEM high quality plastic small index playing cards. These cards are 100% plastic (not plastic coated) and will not crease or tear. Each dealer has one red and one blue backed deck and will change from one deck to the other at the beginning of each blind level.
4. OUR DEALERS are highly trained. A dealer can “make or break” a poker game. Many tours are “self deal” which leads to unhappy players who may not feel comfortable dealing, arguments and unfair play with no one who knows the rules to run the game, and lower sales as players will not leave a table to get food or drinks and they may not notice wait staff. Other tours will simply hire anyone to deal for them.
Our dealers can run a fun game and are trained to handle even the worst situations at their table. In addition, we select our dealers based on personality as they can drive the atmosphere at their table. A fun table is a profitable table. Also, they will assist in sales by noticing players who need food or drink and will call for wait staff when necessary. They will also make note when wait staff is nearby and notify players of their presence.
We also pay our dealers hourly. Other tours pay their dealers from $25 - $40 per shift. We have seen this create a situation where the dealer then wants the game to end as quickly as possible so they put in as little time as possible.
In fact, we are the only tour in the market that can guarantee that our dealers are paid 100% legally. Dealers are employees according to the IRS and must be paid a salary with the employer offering withholding, etc. Also, according to Federal Minimum Wage law, any employee must either be paid at the current hourly minimum wage ($7.02 in Colorado) or their salary divided by the number of hours they work must equal at least the hourly minimum wage.
We are the only tour in the market that pays our dealers an hourly wage in excess of minimum wage every shift and can guarantee our dealers are always paid legally.
Why does this matter to you? If the tour you contract with is not paying its employees legally it is only a matter of time before they are found out by the IRS, Colorado Department of Revenue or Colorado Department of Labor & Employment. Once this happens, all other agencies will be notified and they will be investigated and penalized. It is unlikely that any tour could survive this process and one day you could simply find yourself without a game – WITHOUT NOTICE.
Besides, if a businessman is willing to place his employees at risk if they are audited and short-change his employees by not offering access to beneficial services such as unemployment insurance and Social Security/Medicare contribution, then just how honorable and trustworthy is that businessman likely to be in his dealings with you?
All of these things allow us to provide the best poker tournaments and games in the market.
As a great benefit to our host venues, our tour does not suffer from what we like to call “absent operator syndrome”.
Our management and staff are constantly available to talk to you. In fact, we encourage you to sit down with someone from our management on a regular basis and discuss your profitability levels from the poker games you host. This will allow us to fine-tune the games we hold at your location to make you the most profit possible.
